At Safe2Core, we pride ourselves on our technicians’ ability to handle any residential, commercial, or industrial concrete scanning job, regardless of size or complexity. Recently, we did a live stream from a large commercial structural scanning job in Sunnyvale, CA, where one of our senior technicians, Adrian, guided our live stream host, Matt, through what goes into a large commercial concrete scanning project with over 100,000 sq. ft. of open warehouse space. Let’s take a closer look at this project and what it takes to do the great scanning job that Safe2Core is known for across the country!
Adrian noted the purpose of having Safe2Core onsite was to lay out the locations of all the metal in the concrete structure, including floors, walls, and ceilings.
Another technician, Sergei, was using ground-penetrating radar (GPR) to examine the outside of one of the exterior walls, allowing us to determine the locations of the structural steel and other potential obstructions within the concrete matrix. As of the time the video was produced, Adrian noted Safe2Core had been on site for about a week and a half, pulling full 8-hour shifts each day to map the structural steel, conduit, and various utility lines from roof to the subfloor, side to side, and end to end. Yet another technician was scanning on the inside to assure maximum accuracy and cross-verify each other’s readings.
We will be doing an update soon to illustrate Safe2Core’s progress to completion and cover the full range and scope of this project.
Special thanks to Adrian, Sergei, and the entire Safe2Core crew on this project for taking the time to show how Safe2Core works in the field to a broader audience!
As you can imagine, not every concrete scanning company out there has the capability, experience, technology, or skills to scan concrete as quickly, efficiently, or inexpensively as Safe2Core.
We specialize in non-destructive concrete testing and scanning that allows us and the contractors we partner with to locate and identify:
- Structural steel and rebar
- Post-tensioned cables
- Electrical conduits
- Water lines
- Gas lines
- Voids and air pockets
- And other potential obstructions or hazards
We do this so if it’s necessary to saw, cut, core, or drill into the concrete, the contractor or our dedicated concrete cutting crews will know where they can do so safely, without risk of structural damage or other dangers such as electrocution and gas line leakage. That’s how we got our name, and that’s the promise we make every time we show up on site—that our skilled technicians and cutting-edge scanning technology will help make your job site safer, less hazardous, and ensure everyone gets to stay on budget and on task while adding an extra layer of security that everyone will go home safe at the end of their shift.
